The discovery of wine is a journey and it's one that never quite ends.

Imagine the scene.

You are with some great friends. The wine is flowing, there's oodles of cheese & antipasti. The topic of dreams comes up. 

"Should we buy a wine shop?"

"Absolutely NOT"

 We aren't experts. We are just normal people. Who like wine. A lot.

This dream is crazy. Or is it?

It's not about knowing everything. It's about understanding the unique story of every bottle of wine we share; caring about how it is made and what that means to the environment, to the grapes & to us. And importantly, going on a journey of discovery together.

The more we explored the possibility of making our dream a reality, the more we spoke to people, and the more we realised. Wine is a feeling, and it's a feeling we want to nurture at Cru Wines. 

Wine is the "YESSS!" I nailed it. It's the "chink" to your engagement; your wedding toast; the birth of your baby, and at your final swan song. Wine is the sundowner with the hot sun on your face, and with your feet in the cooling sand, it's the comforter to your wintery night in front of the crackling fire with the dog. Wine is there for you when you've had enough... and had too much. It's the perfect night in, and your wing man on a night out. It calms the butterflies in your tummy on your first date, and confidently sits at the table with you for your Sunday Roast. Yes wine can be red, pink and white, and it can be high in acid, tannins, body and price. Whether it's from the best vineyard in Bordeaux, Marlborough or California; it's not just about where it's from, but where it takes you. 

So earlier this year, we took the leap, established Cru Wines, and are busy moving in to 4 Silver Street, Bradford on Avon.            

The property has roots in bringing the community together over a drink. Originally part of a brewery and pub, renovations have begun to bring the shop in line with the modern day wine lover, whilst mindfully preserving the historically beautiful features of the building.

And it's been a real family affair with all hands on deck!

So why are we crowd funding?

The adventure began in a kitchen, sitting around a table, with friends. This is exactly what we have in mind for Cru Wines! The rebirth of a space for the community to connect with each other, and with the wines around a kitchen table. 

And we all know that the best parties start in the kitchen with great friends! So we are very excited about asking you - the fellow dreamer and wine lover - whether you'd join our campaign and invest in one of our rewards to help fund our kitchen project?

So whether you want to enjoy some yummy gooey cheeses, succulent olives, and charcuterie, chill out with friends after work over a bottle (or two), or host your birthday party here, this kitchen will be for you.
